The Work:

FarmerJawn is reintroducing farming into the lifestyles of urban people to cultivate physical, social, & environmental health.

We’re building a model that enables regenerative organic food production by and for underserved communities. Access to fresh organic foods within food deserts and the community at large. Education on the how and where food comes from through classes, agri business training and school-based programming. Awareness around the challenges and opportunities plaguing our society. Aiding people to think of Agriculture as a Lifestyle towards happier and healthier lives.

FarmerJawn & Friends Foundation Fund is a 501c3 organization that operates in three main areas that embody our mantra:

01 School-Based Programming:

FarmerJawn's school-based programming is a transformative educational initiative that bridges the gap between agriculture and the younger generations. Welcoming students from elementary to university level, the program offers immersive field trips to our farms, where students can experience agriculture firsthand. Through interactive activities, they are encouraged to touch, feel, and engage with the farming process.

This program's ultimate goal is to become an official partner of the area's school districts, solidifying its commitment to nutrition security. As part of the comprehensive approach, FarmerJawn plans to expand impact beyond the farm with a dedicated team that will travel to schools and after-school programs, reaching a wider audience.

02 Agripreneur Training Program:

Black land loss has been a deeply rooted issue in the United States, with an estimated 15,000,000 acres of farmland taken away from Black farmers over the years. This loss has had a devastating impact on Black communities, stripping away generational wealth and self-sufficiency. FarmerJawn recognizes the urgency to address this injustice and is committed to training minority groups, specifically Black individuals, to regain their stake in the agricultural industry.

Through their programs and initiatives, FarmerJawn aims to empower Black people with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to establish and run successful farm operations. By providing equitable opportunities and fostering a supportive network, FarmerJawn strives to help Black individuals reclaim their place in agriculture, restore their connection to the land, and rebuild their communities for a more just and sustainable future.

03 CornerJawn:

CornerJawn is a fast-casual grab n’go concept that redefines the corner store with an emphasis on enhanced health and customer service by way of regenerative organic convenient food in communities where you wouldn’t normally find it while promoting Black-owned foodways.

Through strategic partnerships with local Black farmers, artisans, and chefs, CornerJawn will curate a diverse range of organic and locally sourced products that reflect the rich culinary traditions of Black and Indigenous communities.

This holistic approach seeks to create a network of flourishing Black-owned food and farm businesses, contributing to a more inclusive and vibrant food landscape where representation matters. CornerJawn aims to expand this transformative model to other major cities, driving systemic change in the food and agriculture industry nationwide. Our CEO has been recognized by and invited to speak to White House officials and the USDA about this concept.
